The police arrested two men today for allegedly digitally threatening and stalking several people. The two are also suspected of participating in a criminal organization through groups and channels on the Telegram messaging service. It concerns a 26-year-old man from Deurne and a 39-year-old man from Venlo. The two would be the managers of the channels.
In the most active Telegram group (called the ‘Looijcartel’), which once had about seven thousand members, thousands of messages were shared in which people were threatened and insulted. There was a call for violence against people or things.
The two suspects are currently in custody. This means that they can only have contact with their lawyer. Their devices have been seized. The suspects have been arrested in their place of residence, but the police investigation into the case is taking place from Hilversum. That is where the victim comes from who was mainly the target.
