The Eisbären Berlin celebrated their fifth away win in a row in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). On Tuesday evening, the league leaders won 10:2 (3:1, 4:1, 3:0) at the Nuremberg Ice Tigers.

Patrice Cormier and Leonhard Pföderl scored two goals each, and Eric Mik, Tobias Eder, Jonas Müller, Morgan Ellis, Frederik Tiffels and Marco Nowak also scored for the Berliners, who consistently capitalized on their chances.

In front of 6,114 spectators in the Nuremberg Arena, the capital city team was extremely efficient from the start. After the hosts lost the puck in their own zone, Mik took the early lead. Just nine seconds later, Pföderl scored in his comeback after his injury break, and shortly afterwards Eder completed a beautiful combination with Berlin’s third goal.

However, the Franconians were not shocked and were able to reduce the deficit with a goal from Jake Ustorf.

After the first period break, Cormier restored the old gap in the power play. Roman Kechter answered for the home team, but Cormier, Müller and Ellis again scored with their goals within three minutes to ensure that the capital team was able to pull away to 7-2.

Tiffels, Nowak and again Pföderl even achieved a double-digit result in the final section.
