SGE confirms the purchase option

Hrvoje Smolcic (25) changes from Eintracht Frankfurt to the Turkish first division promoted Kocaelispor. As the SGE announced, the transfer is a loan with a purchase option. The Croatian central defender is the tenth departure of the Hesse this summer – the fourth loan.

For Smolcic, it is the second loan in a row after a detour to the LASK, where it was used 33 times in the previous season and thus once again as an Eintracht professional than in his first two years. In 2022 he moved from HNK Rijeka to Frankfurt for 2.5 million euros. He increased his market value to 5 million euros during his first season – this fell continuously to currently 2 million euros.

At the Süper-Lig promered from the 360,000 inhabitant city of İzmit, he is the 16th access and with its market value the third most value-worthy player in the squad. He meets his compatriot Bruno Petkovic, who was fetched from Dinamo Zagreb free of charge in the summer. Smolcics SGE contract is dated until June 30, 2027.
