Third division club MSV Duisburg signed Pascal Köpke after his contract with 1. FC Nürnberg ended. As the “Zebras” announced on Monday, the 27-year-old striker signed for one season with an option. Köpke only made seven appearances in the second division last season (one assist), mainly due to injury.

“At 27, Pascal fits perfectly into the age structure that we envisioned for our squad. As a center forward who has played in the first three leagues, he also brings a lot of experience and flexibility that will help us in the new season,” said sporting director Ralf Heskampf about the third signing.

Coach Torsten Ziegner added: “Pascal has already proven in the second and third leagues that he can help a team immediately. From the very first moment we spoke to him, he signaled that he was up for the task and that he wanted to prove that he was good enough to help a team with his qualities. Pascal is a very humble person and player who will work hard for the team.”
