Third division champions 1. FC Magdeburg said goodbye to a total of nine players from their squad after the last home game of the season against TSV 1860 Munich (0:4) in the 3rd division. With captain Tobias Müller (27) and fellow defender Raphael Obermair (26) and offensive player Sirlord Conteh (25), three top performers are leaving FCM.

In addition, also Korbinian Burger (27), Adrian Malachowski (24), Sebastian Jakubiak (28) and Tobias Knost (21) as well as the rarely used Nico Granatowski (30) will not wear the Magdeburg jersey in the coming season. The loaned goalkeeper Benjamin Leneis (23) is also returning to his home club FC Augsburg.
