Thomas Hengen has not confirmed reports that Dimitrios Grammozis will be the new coach of the second division soccer team 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
Before the game at 1. FC Magdeburg, the Palatinate sports director neither wanted to confirm nor deny that a new coach would be introduced on Sunday to replace Dirk Schuster, who was unexpectedly on leave on Thursday.
“We don’t comment on any names or rumors,” said Hengen.
“Bild” reported on Saturday that former FCK professional Grammozis would sign a contract in Kaiserslautern on Sunday. The Greek has been without a job since being released from FC Schalke 04 a year ago.
