The island’s mayor previously told NH 16,000 people expected. The good news for all children and parents is that it looks like it will remain largely dry that day.
The site at Oudeschild will open from 9 a.m. for people to come and have a look. Sinterklaas will arrive from 12 noon. Some rain may fall in the first few hours, but according to weatherman Jan Visser it looks like it will stop after that.
“You can take your umbrella with you, but there is a wind force of 5 or 6. That is not much wind by Texel standards, but for Saint Nicholas and associates, he must take into account that his miter does not blow off.”
Rainy before the arrival of Saint Nicholas
Tomorrow it will rain all day in most parts of North Holland. It gets chilly with low temperatures. The chance of rain on Sunday is small, according to Visser.
He predicts light frost at night. “But it is not really winter weather yet. There is a chance of mild freezing conditions.”
