They have a problem at the polling station in the De Zeskanter community center in Zaandam: the gate is closed and the person with the key cannot be reached. Polling station employees therefore had to send voters away.
“We depend on volunteers and one of them has the key,” says chairman Martin Jonker. “But we called the municipality and someone is coming.” He therefore does not expect the polling station to open an hour later. “As soon as the gate is open, everything is ready within fifteen minutes and we don’t have to send anyone away.”
