FC Den Bosch has expressed its disgust in a statement about the behavior of its own fans and those of ADO Den Haag around the cup match in Den Bosch on Tuesday evening. The first division player from Den Bosch wants to prosecute the misbehaving fans criminally. The match was stopped for a long time after fans of the home club used the field to confront the ADO supporters, who, among other things, threw fireworks.

“We as a club would like to express our disgust about the incidents during the cup match FC Den Bosch – ADO Den Haag,” the home club wrote.

“The actions of a group of people have spoiled the football evening for the well-intentioned majority. Both clubs strongly disapprove of the events. FC Den Bosch will do everything possible to punish the perpetrators severely, ban them from our stadium and, where possible, prosecute criminally.”

FC Den Bosch also expects consequences for the matches between both clubs in the future.

A police spokesperson said that no arrests were made when the match was stopped and the riot police came among the supporter groups. Before the match, two people were arrested for carrying fireworks.

Steward bitten
After ADO Den Haag took a 2-3 lead via a penalty, fans of that club broke through the fence at the away section. This was followed by a response from the FC Den Bosch supporters on the M-Side. A few entered the field and headed towards the broken fence.

After this, fireworks were thrown back and forth and there was a skirmish between stewards and fans. Within a few minutes the riot police were on the field, including dogs, after which peace returned.

A steward from FC Den Bosch was bitten on his right hand by a police dog during the disturbances.
