The Zurich Fashion Week association is planning a fashion week in the Swiss economic metropolis for next year.

The fashion week will take place at the Kongresshaus Zurich, according to the organizers’ website, and is supported by the city of Zurich and various universities such as the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD), the Zurich University of the Arts and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences.

The club board consists of the founders Remo and Anzhela Schmid, the club president Tamy Glauser, the cashier (treasurer) Pascal Pfister and the members Nadine Vinzens, Stephanie Jeg Schmidt-Reitwein, Rachel Isenschmid, Sara Lazarevic and Gabriela Spielmann. There is also honorary president Donald Schneider, who has just brought back the ski and lifestyle brand Elho.

The fashion week is intended to put the city of Zurich in the spotlight as a “center for creativity, fashion and design,” said Glauser. We are also expecting international fashion enthusiasts and buyers.

Both aspiring and established designers from Switzerland should have the opportunity to present their collections to a “broad audience”. Young designers from local schools should be supported with scholarships, while a “famous fashion icon” and a: e designer is awarded the “Living Legend Award”.

The organizers are planning the fashion week for the period from March 19th to 27th. However, the date has not yet been confirmed.
