Scarlett Johansson was the top of the box office charts for a long time and was therefore the most successful actress in the industry. With the release of “Avatar 3: Fire and Ash” on December 17, 2025, a replacement at the top has been announced for a few weeks and is now becoming a reality.
The Black Widow actress had established herself at the top of the list over the years. Through her participation in successful franchises such as “Marvel” and “Jurassic World,” the Oscar-nominated actress brought in around $15.4 billion for her respective studios. Now her days at the top of the list are numbered, as a colleague from Hollywood has caught up and will now overtake her.
In first place with over $15 billion
actress Zoë Saldaña is now at the top of the all-time box office charts. The film “Avatar: Fire and Ashes” made a big contribution to this. The third part of the series has so far grossed $1.2 billion at the box office, helping the leading actress jump to number one on the list.
In the film she plays Neytiri, who has to repeatedly defend her homeland of Pandora against human invasions. However, the front-runner can also be seen in “Star Trek” and as Gamora in the “Marvel” universe, which are also among the highest-grossing franchises in Hollywood.
The list of the most successful actors is kept on the website “The Numbers”. The two actresses are currently on par with around $15.4 billion each. However, since the theatrical release of “Avatar 3” has not yet been completed, it is a given that Scarlett Johansson will have to give up her top spot.
