Zelensky tweeted that he was the first foreign leader to call Truss after moving into 10 Downing Street. “I thanked the people for their great military and economic support. It is important that the UK is willing to strengthen it,” Zelensky wrote. Truss reiterated in the conversation that the United Kingdom continues to contribute to Ukraine’s freedom and democracy.
The Ukrainian leader also responded to the comment by his American colleague Joe Biden who refuses to label Russia as a state sponsoring terrorism, as Kiev does. That designation could endanger food shipments through the Black Sea, Biden said. Zelensky maintains that Russia is a terrorist nation and said he will continue to respond.
