So far, DZN has had the global rights for women’s Champions League. Now it is Disney+ – and games will also be shown on ZDF.
New TV partner for the Champions League of the football women: ZDF will get into the reporting from the 2025/26 season. The public broadcaster plans to show selected games both live and in the media library. This was confirmed by ZDF at the request of the German Press Agency-the broadcaster initially did not give any further details.
The transfer is made possible by an agreement between the European Radio Union (EBU) and the right holder UC3. As the EBU announced, the contract runs over five seasons and allows the members to radiate a game per game week. In addition, the right -wing package includes a semi -finals and the final of the competition.
At the same time, Disney+ takes over the comprehensive Pay TV rights of the Champions League of women across Europe. The streaming service shows every 75 games per season-a novelty for the platform that has not yet had a live sports offer in Germany. Disney+ thus replaces the previous rights holder DAZN, who holds the global transmission rights.
