Zalando launches inclusive shoe collection with designer brands

The Berlin online retailer Zalando is launching a shoe collection with various designer brands, which is intended to involve more customers with its range of sizes.

The shoes from the brands Filling Pieces, Rejina Pyo, Holzweiler, Misbhv, Elleme, GCDS and Eckhaus Latta will be available in sizes from 35 to 46, Zalando announced on Thursday. A total of 14 models are offered, which are based on different styles. This also includes high heels, which are often not available in large sizes.

“The collection is another step in our journey to offer a truly inclusive shopping experience. This collection would not have been possible without the great collaboration with the seven designer brands with whom we were able to realize this vision,” said Lena-Sophie Röper, Director Designer & Luxury at Zalando. “We need this kind of teamwork throughout the industry. We hope that this collaboration is just the beginning and that we will work on many more inclusive collections of this kind in the future to make fashion accessible to all.”

Interview with Lena-Sophie Röper:

Zalando has financially supported the brands in producing the larger and smaller sizes, as it can be a challenge for smaller brands to produce outside of the usual sizes, as this can result in higher costs.

The shoes will be available from Zalando from May 8th.
