Yusuf / Cat Stevens resigns “Take The World Apart” on his 17th studio album, “King of a Land”, ss will be released on June 16, 2023. New music by the British singer/songwriter was last heard in 2017: “The Laughing Apple.
In the meantime, however, much has been published. Most recently, at the end of 2022, the anniversary remaster of his sixth full-length, released in 1972 “Catch Bull at Four”.
In his new work, which he will present on June 25th “Glastonbury Festival” during Sunday “Tea Time Legends” slot will be presented live, Yusuf has been working since 2011. At that time, the first sketches were made in the Hansa Studios in Berlin. Along with former The Yardbirds bassist Paul Samwell-Smith, who “King of a Land”, work then continued over the years in Brussels, Provence and finally Dubai.

The songs were finally mixed in Friar Park, on George Harrison’s former estate. Yusuf describes the Beatle as one of his greatest inspirations. On February 25th this year, for the 80th birthday of the man who died in 2011, he has a cover of the Beatles song “Here Comes the Sun”.
