Hamburger SV is one of the largest clubs in Germany. In the New sticker on T-Online you will find all the important messages about the “red pants”.

HSV head coach Merlin Polzin presented his new team captain on Friday. Established players like Daniel Heuer Fernandes, Daniel Elfadli or Miro Muheim have long been considered promising candidates. However, a new addition has prevailed: Yussuf Poulsen will bear the captain’s armband in the future. The team council also includes Jonas Meffert and Nicolas Capaldo.

Polzin justified his decision as follows: “Our choice has been made on Yussuf because he has a great sense of responsibility and a lot of experience. In addition, he lives 100 percent as a full professional.”

The Danish newcomer replaces Sebastian Schonlau. Polzin thanked the central defender, who is about to say goodbye to the Hamburgers: “He has filled this office in the past few years in an outstanding way.”

His red card in the last test game at RCD Mallorca has no consequences for Jordan Torunarigha for the time being. The DFB suspended the lock against the 28-year-old at the request of the HSV, the association said.

Central defender Torunarigha “stays entitled to operational until the fact that the fact is determined or the decision,” it said. According to the legal and procedural order of the DFB, the preliminary ban can be suspended in test games abroad after a field reference at the request of the association, the DFB explained.

Torunarigha saw the red card last Saturday in the game at the Spanish first division in Mallorca (0-2) shortly before the end after a male foul against Mallorcas Jan Salas. By decision of the DFB, the newcomer in the cup game of the Hamburger on Saturday at FK Pirmasens (1 p.m./Sky) could play.

At many HSV fans, Schlach has enjoyed cult status for many years. No game takes place without the hymn “My Hamburg I love very much”. Shortly before the start of the first Bundesliga season of the HSV since 2018, the band has released a new song.

“We are back” is the name of the work – and revolves around the long -awaited promotion and the hard years in the 2nd Bundesliga with many bitter defeats. But that also had his good sides, Single Schlach: “And if we are honest, the descent gave us momentum. The old shackles put down and suddenly young again. We are back!”
