Yulimar Rojas won the World Championship gold medal in the three leagues with a new ME result of 15.74. The Venezuelan improved the record in his own name by seven cents.
Rojas ’previous record on the indoor track was set in Madrid in February 2020. At that time, the three-jump Olympic champion jumped 15.43.
After a 26-year-old bouncy miracle, Ukraine came second in the race Marina Beh-Romantshuk with its own record of 14.74. So he was exactly one meter away from Rojas’ victory. The bronze was seized by Jamaica Kimberly Williams with a result of 14.62.
Kristiina Mäkelä was ninth in the race. He stepped over after his first two jumps. The third set of jumps carried 14.14.
Mäkelä’s own record is 14.41. In the Belgrade Hall, that result would have been eighth.
