Yuki Kempees is quitting the DJ trio Kris Kross Amsterdam. De Oosterhouter announced this on Wednesday via Instagram. In his message he says that it is time for a new phase. Kris Kross Amsterdam had more than 40 hits and was number one in the charts twice.
The musician spent twelve years with Kris Kross Amsterdam. On his Instagram he writes: “Now I feel that it is time for a new phase. A phase in which I want to use the experience I have gained in recent years in a different way. That is why I have decided to stop with Kris Kross Amsterdam.”
His message includes a slide with photos of his many performances around the world. There is also a photo of his fellow DJs, Sander and Jordy Huisman. He thanks them and hopes that they continue Kris Kross in their own way.
Kris Kross Amsterdam scored a big hit with the song ‘He Is Van Mij’, which reached number 1 in the top 100 and was the most streamed single of 2019. In 2023, ‘How you samba’ was number 1 in the Netherlands.
Focus
De Oosterhouter says that his focus is now on his next steps: within the music industry, his work as an expert at RTL Boulevard, his column at Flair, his role as a presenter at the KNVB and his own music.
He thanks everyone who took the time to visit his shows. “Whether it was in front of 50 people or 50,000, you gave me the opportunity to give it my all.”
