There has been a clear downward trend in alcohol use among Flemish young people over the last ten years. This is reported by the Flemish expertise center for Alcohol and Other Drugs (VAD), which conducted research into substance use among secondary school students. Another observation: prescription sleeping pills and tranquilizers are used surprisingly high, especially among girls.
