A 23-year-old man drowned in the Maas in Huy in the night from Friday to Saturday, after he was chased by a group of strangers. Police have launched a call for witnesses.
Shortly after midnight, a skirmish broke out on Huy’s Grote Markt. Several people got into an argument, one of them is said to have been chased as far as Quai d’Arona and fell into the water there.
The lifeless body of the man, 23 years old and from Seraing, was removed from the water by the fire brigade.
Police are now launching a call for witnesses.
“The course of the chase remains very vague. We would like to know who was there and how everything happened,” said Police Commissioner Jean-Marie Dradin on Saturday evening.
