You can view these special buildings in Zoetermeer during the day of the architecture

Grab a red pen and circle on Saturday 14 June in your agenda, because then it’s time for the twentieth edition of the Day of Architecture in Zoetermeer. On this day you will learn more about special buildings and the future of our city. Curious about which activities are on the program? Read on quickly.

Every year the Day of Architecture is all about a theme. This year is that Transition.

Day of Architecture in Zoetermeer

Alderman Ronald Weerwag opens the day of architecture in the Dutch Innovation Park. From 10.30 am to 12.30 pm you will learn more about the latest buildings in Zoetermeer and you can cast your vote for the Gemma Smid Architecture Prize 2025. Finally, you can walk a new architecture route together with a guide at 11.15 am.

In the afternoon you can go out yourself. Between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. the six buildings are open that have been nominated for the Gemma Smid Architectuurprijs 2025. In recent years, these buildings have continued a special transition and in some are tours. These buildings are on a map in the booklet Zoetermeer in transitionthat is available in the following places on the day of the architecture:

• T BrasserieWerner von Siemensstraat 1 – between 10.30 am and noon
• Forum libraryStadhuisplein 1 – from 10 a.m.
• Club entranceBoerhaavelaan 33 – from 1 p.m.

Transition

This year’s theme, Transitionrevolves around change in everything that has been built by people, such as houses, schools, offices, shops, roads and bridges. “That we have to deal with space differently in our densely built -up Netherlands is clear. We have to change now. We are already in motion. In other words: the Netherlands is in transition,” the organization says.
