Racing on your bike to Centrum West, quickly smashing your bike against the storefront behind the Stadshart or cycling the last bit over the platform to the last train compartment with your folding bike? Everything is possible, although some actions will result in a hefty fine. Here is an overview of violations and what the fine is for them.

Free guarded bicycle parking facilities are available at the Centrum West, Stadhuis and Zoetermeer train stations. But for that you have to put in a little effort. ‘Then I’ll just throw my bike in front of the door, because I’m really not going to walk around’, you might think. But what is the fine if you park your bicycle in a place where it is not allowed or for other violations?

Cyclists and fines

Parking your bicycle in a place where that is not allowed can result in a fine of 40 euros or the chance that your bicycle will be taken to the bicycle depot. Picking up your bike there will cost you, in addition to time, another 25 euros. Cycling on the train or tram platform can also provide you with a great picture.
