Ylex’s radio host Ella Ossi broke down during a live broadcast on Monday morning. Ossi hosts on the channel X of new music program.
To the listeners’ surprise, Ossi announced that his hosting will end on Thursday.
– I will do the last one this week New Music X – my broadcast. Ylex’s software is being renewed and as part of these reforms and changes, my journey X of new musiccomes to an end in . Starting next week, this program will be hosted by Sonny Kylä-Liuhala, he told the listeners.
Ossi continued by saying that the name of the program will remain the same in the future, but more topical content will be added to the program. At the same time, the length changes from two to four hours. Also Ylex Front page – program will be discontinued after a longer broadcast.
– I say this with a really wistful feeling, because X of new music it’s… Wow… Ossi burst into tears.
– I thought I wouldn’t get sensitized. X of new music is a program I love and this is my dream job, Ossi managed to say after collecting himself for a moment.
He told the listeners that he would have liked to continue making the program himself.
– As you might expect, this was not my decision.
Ossi’s future at Yle
Ossi said that he had known about the change for a long time. He will continue working at Ylex, but his duties will be on the social media side in the future. According to Ossi, he himself still doesn’t know what the future looks like on his work front.
After the announcement, Ossi put Olivia Dean Lady Lady to play the song.
Ylex’s video broadcast showed how the radio host stayed in the studio to wipe away tears. At the same moment, colleagues started pouring into the studio to hug the crying Ossi. In the end, there were seven colleagues and a radio host in the studio Aino “Aikku” Silkelä seemed to be giving some kind of speech to Ossi based on the video. The speech ended with applause, after which the other people left the studio, and Ossi was left to continue the talk, feeling emotional.
He said that he received a lot of messages from listeners immediately after the announcement. Judging from the video, Ossi was moved by the messages he received.
