Yle revealed the viewership figures for the World Ski Championships

The World Ski Championships are interesting in Finland.

The World Championships of Nordic skiing in Planica (21.2.–5.3.) reached a total of 2.9 million Finns on TV and in Yle Areena, reports Yle.

All WC broadcasts had an average of 390,000 viewers. The average reach of one broadcast was 520,000.

Six broadcasts reached more than a million. The highest average number of viewers (1.1 million) and reach (1.7 million) was collected by the men’s 50 km cross-country skiing on Sunday, March 5.

The World Alpine Skiing Championships held in France (February 6–19) reached a total of almost 1.4 million Finns on Yle’s channels. The Biathlon World Championships (February 8–19) in Germany attracted 1.6 million viewers, and the Snowboarding and Freestyle World Championships (February 19–March 5) in Georgia attracted 1.3 million pairs of eyes.
