Derk Bolt confesses after many years that he has worn a wig in Spoorloos for a while. Today he is as gray as a dove, but he used to appear on the TV with a dark blond wig.
It caused a lot of surprise about eight years ago: Derk Bolt suddenly appeared with a very static coupe in his ratings hit Spoorloos. There has been speculation on social media about a wig. During corona he again came up with a new coupe, but this time pure nature: nowadays Derk walks across the screen as gray as a dove.

Derk faces it in Veronica Superguide. “If you type your name into Google, one of the suggested search terms is ‘Derk Bolt wig’”, he is presented.
Then Derk decides to admit after many years that he has indeed worn a wig. “Are you serious? Did they see it, do you think? Well, yes, I have a nasty blood disorder, under control but chronic, and during the time I was being treated for it, my hair became very flaky. I found no face.”

Actually, Derk didn’t know that people realized it. “I had been dyeing it for years, but I couldn’t do anything about the thinness, so I temporarily opted for a wig. No idea people figured that out. Well. I’ve had my own hair for a while, but when corona came and the hairdressers were closed, I couldn’t dye it anymore and I’ve been gray ever since.”
He continues: “Colleagues, friends and my kids all told me to leave it this way, so I’m doing it now. But to be honest, I still have to get used to seeing that gray head on the picture.”
