Writer Julie Cook was invited to join an expedition to Titanic, where great-grandfather died, but is glad it didn’t happen: “Leave the ship and the dead alone”

British writer and journalist Julie Cook calls in the ‘Daily Mail’ for an end to tourist expeditions to the Titanic. Two years ago, she herself received an invitation from OceanGate to visit the wreck, where her great-grandfather’s body still rests. She accepted, but in the end the trip couldn’t go ahead. Cook is only happy about that now. “It is high time we put an end to this ‘Titanic tourism’ and put the ship and the dead to rest.”
