Wout Poels tenth in Queen stage Paris-Nice | 1Limburg

Cyclist Wout Poels from Blitterswijck finished tenth in the Queen’s stage of the stage race Paris-Nice.

The stage victory went to Primoz Roglic, the leader of the general classification.

Helper
Poels drives in the French stage race as a helper of Jack Haig, who is the leader at Bahrain-Victorious. However, the Limburger was also able to get a good result on Saturday in the Queen’s stage, which finished uphill between the snow on the Col de Turini. Shortly after leader Haig crossed the line in sixth, Poels also crossed the finish line. With his tenth place, Poels shows that he is in good shape. He also previously won the Ruta del Sol.

roglic
Jumbo-Visma team leader Frans Maassen from Haelen was able to celebrate again. For the third time in six days, the Dutch team won a stage. Primoz Roglic attacked in the last hundreds of meters and won the stage. This also strengthened his leading position in the general classification. The Slovenian has to defend a 47-second lead on Sunday in the final stage that will be held in and around Nice.

Teunissen
Mike Teunissen didn’t make it to the finish. The rider from Ysselsteyn decided to dismount shortly after the start of the stage to “don’t force anything with a view to the classics.”
