‘Would I mourn the suicide of Rogier Smit? No!’

Frank Jansen is incredibly unemotional about his ex-husband Rogier Smit, with whom he ended up in a divorce battle shortly after their switch to RTL 4. “It doesn’t affect me anymore.”

The rather hysterical reality star Rogier Smit (photo: right) has fallen quite badly. He recently posted a rather cryptic one story on Instagram in which he more or less indicated that he would end his life. “The end… RIP Rogier Smit. See you later,” it said. It is still unclear what exactly he meant by that.

Do not feel like it anymore

Is his ex-husband Frank Jansen worried? No, he answers in the Weekend. “I have no idea, I have blocked Rogier’s 06 number for a long time. He recently got a new number, but I’m going to block that too. When I got that message, I thought: yes, bye! I don’t want to hear from him anymore, I don’t want to deal with all that nonsense from him anymore.”

He continues: “It’s very strange that you have had someone as a partner for seventeen years, but now you hate him so much. I still can’t imagine that. I don’t understand it myself, but apparently that’s part of life.”

Severely depressed

Frank finds it reprehensible that Rogier puts something like that on the social media. “That’s awful. Also very unkind, because he puts everyone on the wrong track. If one day something happens to him, everyone will think: it must not be like that. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he chooses death. Because of course he is deeply depressed.”

Isn’t he terrified that Rogier will really do something to himself? No, he says he will not grieve if he hears that his ex is really dead. “No, that doesn’t bother me,” he says resolutely. “I will just think: what a shame that he did not realize that another way of life is possible. I would have that.”
