Drummer for the American band Foo Fighters Taylor Hawkins has died at the age of 50. The band announced the matter on their Facebook page early Saturday morning.
– The Foo Fighters family is shocked by Taylor Hawkins’ tragic and premature departure. His musical spirit and catchy laughter will live with us all forever, the band wrote.

Several world stars are mourning Hawkins ’departure and musicians have shown their condolences on social media. Billy Idol posted a picture of a late drummer on Twitter.
– So tragic. Rest in peace, Taylor, he stated.
The band Nickelback also posted their condolences on Twitter.
– Our deepest condolences to his family, bandmates, team, friends and everyone who has been touched by the music created by Foo Fighters. This is so incredibly sad.
Drummer Ringo Starr released a black and white image of Hawkins.
– God bless Taylor. Peace and love for his family and band.
Ozzy Osbourne sends his sympathy to Hawkins loved ones and Foo Fighters fans.

Drummer Travis Barker posted a long memoir on his Instagram account with a picture of Hawkins.
– I have no words. Sad to write this and I will never see you again.
Barker writes that in the early stages of his own career, Hawkins was the one who illuminated his faith and determination.
