Striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting no longer received a new contract at FC Bayern Munich. Now he is moving to the USA to work for a German coach.
The transfer of ex-Bayern striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to the USA is official. The New York Red Bulls, trained by German coach Sandro Schwarz, confirmed the 35-year-old’s signing on social media.
Choupo-Moting has been without a club since the summer after his contract with FC Bayern Munich was not extended. The Hamburg native can look back on an impressive career in the Bundesliga, where he played for HSV, 1. FC NĂĽrnberg, Mainz 05 and Schalke 04, among others. The Cameroon international gained international experience at Stoke City and Paris Saint-Germain.
“Maxim is a strong striker who will bring a lot of experience and leadership to our club,” said Sandro Schwarz about the new signing. The New York Red Bulls are part of the global football network of the Austrian Red Bull Group, which also includes RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg.
