Robert Lewandowski will soon sign his contract and will officially become the new star of FC Barcelona. The world footballer even saves on salary for this.
Robert Lewandowski is giving up a lot of money for his dream of appearing for FC Barcelona. At least that’s what the Catalan sports daily “Sport” reports. Accordingly, the two-time world footballer collects an annual salary of nine million euros net from the Camp Nou club. Lewandowski is said to have earned 24 million euros gross at Bayern Munich, which corresponds to net earnings of around 12 million euros.
When it comes to the “Sport” report, it must be borne in mind that it is common practice in Spanish football to contractually record net salaries. In contrast, professionals in Germany conclude their working papers with a written gross salary.
Lewandowski signs four-year contract
The fact that Lewandowski is willing to have three million euros less transferred to his account in Barcelona is surprising in that the Pole is said to have repeatedly insisted on improved salaries in the month-long contract dispute with FC Bayern.
However, the contract period offered by Barcelona may have caused Lewandowski to rethink. While he was said to have been offered a maximum extension of two years in Munich, he is signing a four-year contract in Barcelona, according to information from “Sport”. At the end of the goalscorer would be 37 years old.
