Munich? Busy for now. Cologne? Only one German main round matchday available. The demand for tickets for the 2027 Men’s Handball World Cup in Germany is huge.
One day after the official start of advance sales, over 100,000 tickets for the tournament from January 13th to 31st, 2027, including presales, had already been sold. The German Handball Association (DHB) announced this on Tuesday.
“The start of ticket sales exceeded our expectations,” said DHB CEO Mark Schober. The experiences of the home European Championships in 2024 and the women’s World Cup that have just ended have “impressively shown how strongly home tournaments shape the enthusiasm for handball in Germany. We would like to build on this with the men’s World Cup in 2027.”
The biggest run comes from the games of the German national team. The preliminary round games in Munich and two of the three matchdays of the German main round in Cologne are currently full.
Hospitality offers for these match days are still available. Tickets are still available for the non-German match days in Munich and Cologne as well as for Kiel, Magdeburg, Stuttgart and Hanover.
Additional ticket contingents will be released for the participating teams following the draw, which is expected to take place in June 2026. Unused returns are then available for free sale.
