England has tortured a narrow victory in the Andorra football dwarf in the World Cup qualification-and the traveling fans disappointed.
In the bumpy 1-0 (0-0) on Saturday in Barcelona, the highly favorite English came to a goal through Harry Kane (50th). Bayern Munich’s striker dusted after he had failed to go to Andorra’s goalkeeper Iker Alvarez shortly before.
Kane had already had the lead on his foot in the first half, but missed the goal from a short distance. It was the only really good chance of the English before the break – which the many English fans in the stands acknowledged with a whistle concert. In the absence of a suitable stadium in Andorra, the game took place in Barcelona, where many British had also traveled.
Tuchel with a third victory
Thomas Tuchel celebrated the third win in the third game as a national coach of England, which was only four of his predecessors. However, he cannot really record the weak performance against Andorra as a success. Andorra only ranks 173th in the FIFA world rankings just ahead of Grenada and Nepal.
England’s starting force came to 90 percent possession against the logically extremely deep opponent, but also in the second round only occasionally in good final positions. Andorra even got a chance to equalize through Guillaume Silvain Lopez (75th) from the national champion Inter Club d’Escaldes. Even after the final whistle, England received shifts from the ranks.
Andorra no cannon feed
Andorra had not already presented itself against Latvia (0: 1) and Albania (0: 3) as a cannon feed, but continued to wait for the first goal in the qualification for the World Cup 2026. On Saturday, Pau Babot, grew up in Frankfurt and actively for the Oberliga club Hanauer SC in the Hessenliga, against Kane, Jude Bellingham and Co.
After a 2-0 against Albania and a 3-0 against Latvia, England continues to be zero. It was only on September 6th for the “Three Lions” the next game, the second leg against Andorra. Three days later, the group may be the most difficult opponent in the group, Serbia.
