England’s national soccer team did not spray a great playful shine in the World Cup qualification against Andorra, but won the game 2-0 (1-0) without difficulty.
An own goal of Christian Garcia in the 25th minute and a header from Arsenals Declan Rice (67th) gave the “Three Lions” in “Villa Park” in Birmingham fourth victory in the fourth qualification game with a balance of 8: 0 goals.
England needs an own goal for the leadership against defensive Andorra
Andorra’s coach Alvarez de Eulate had obviously prescribed a strict defensive tactic for his team – hardly even the guests really dared to go forward, so England naturally had clear field advantages from the start.
With over 80 percent possession of the ball, the Tuchel-Elf played patiently around the guest criminal room, but did little chance and needed the opponent’s help for the leadership: Noni Madueke brought a cross from the right area where Christian Garcia extended the ball unhappily into the far corner. More than a few half chances like a header from Harry Kane, but there was no strain on the goal (39th) until the break.
Rice puts on the head
In the second round, the hosts gave up a tooth and had several occasions at the beginning of putting 2-0. But both Eberechi Eze in the 50th and debutant Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest failed a minute later on Andorra’s keeper of the coach.
The second goal then fell when Reece James prevailed on the right and his flank found Rice’s head, which could head headlessly unexpectedly (67th). Andorra, who ran with Pau Babot from the fifth league team SV Rot-Weiss Walldorf, remained with his defensive tactics, England still had one or the other opportunity to almost always flank, but it stayed with the overall deserved 2-0.
