Status: 03/24/2023 4:43 p.m

In the last team sprint of the season, the cross-country duo Laura Gimmler/Coletta Rydzek secured third place in Lahti. Victory once again went to Sweden.

Both teams had qualified for Germany. Laura Gimmler started for Germany I and then passed to Coletta Rydzek. Pia Fink and Sofie Krehl started for the second German team. In the team sprint, two athletes per team always start and switch to their partner after 1.5 kilometers, so that both run 4.5 kilometers each.

Sweden successful

The teams were close together until halfway through the race. But then Norway I and Sweden I set the pace and the field evened out.

At the front, Norway I and Sweden I delivered an exciting race. But the world champion in team sprint Jonna Sundling started the attack in the last lap and thus secured the victory for Team Sweden I. She immediately put a few meters between herself and the Norwegian. Their lead was 4.57 seconds.

Exciting battle for third place

In third place there was another narrow sprint to the finish. Finland I was the first to reach the finish line, but the two German teams were still fighting for third place. Coletta Rydzek got everything out and passed the Finn Kahara on the left lane and took third place for Germany I. Sofie Krehl secured fifth place for Germany II.
