For the 2026 World Cup, fans will be digging deep into their pockets for the jersey. An analysis shows extreme price differences – from bargains to premium jersey.

The 2026 World Cup will begin shortly. For many fans, the jersey of their favorite team is part of their personal equipment. But anyone who goes looking for the official jersey often experiences a surprise at the checkout: a World Cup jersey costs around 104 euros on average.

A recent analysis by the University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) examined the official retail prices of the home and away jerseys of all 48 qualified national teams. The result shows: The difference between the cheapest and the most expensive jersey is just under 128 euros.

From 32 to 160 euros: That’s how big the price range is

If you want to buy an official World Cup jersey, you should first know: Prices vary considerably – depending on the manufacturer, national team and jersey version. The cheapest model in the analysis comes from the manufacturer Kelme and is produced for Jordan: It is available for around 32 euros. The jerseys from Paraguay (51 euros) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (around 57 euros) are also well below the global average.

The jerseys from the major sports brands are at the upper end of the price scale. For the so-called replica versions – i.e. the classic fan jerseys – Nike charges an average of around 109.99 euros, Adidas is around 100 euros, and Puma is just under that at 99.95 euros.

World Cup 2026: When will the German team play?

The World Cup will take place from June 11th to July 19th, 2026 in the USA, Canada and Mexico. The German national soccer team plays two of its three group games in the USA. On June 14th, the team will play against Curaçao in Houston (US state of Texas), and six days later, national coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team will play against Ivory Coast in Toronto (Canada). The final group game against Ecuador will be played on June 25th in East Rutherford (New Jersey).

Replica or Authentic – what’s the difference?

If you want to dig even deeper into your pockets, you will end up with the so-called authentic jerseys. These are more expensive, but visually they can hardly be distinguished from the replica version. The main difference lies in the cut and workmanship: Authentic models have a body-hugging cut and are worn by professional players. Replica versions, on the other hand, have a normal fit and are of a little less high quality – but are completely sufficient for everyday use on the stands or on the sofa.

The price premium for the professional version is considerable: Authentic models from Nike cost an average of 159.99 euros, Adidas charges around 150 euros, Puma costs around 149.95 euros. So if you don’t necessarily have to wear the same jersey as the professionals, you can save between 50 and 60 euros with the replica version.
