Finland Marjaana Heikkinen has won World Championship bronze in the javelin F34 category at the World Para Athletics Championships in Paris. Only German Frances Herrmann and China Zou Lijuan threw Heikki further.

Heikkinen threw his longest throw in the fourth, which carried 16.90 meters. The throw was also his best of the season.

China’s Zou Lijuan won the gold. Lijuan’s longest throw carried 20.74 meters. Herrmann’s best throw, who won silver, was 17.74 meters, which was his best of the season.

Came fourth Dayna Crees was only six centimeters away from Heikkinen’s result, so the medal came to Finland by a centimeter.

The prestigious medal was Heikkinen’s thirteenth in his career. Heikkinen has previously won three silver medals in the World Championships and three gold medals in the European Championships.

Leo-Pekka Tähti was out of the final

Leo-Pekka Tähti was left out of the finals of the 400m T54 class of track and field. Tähti was fourth in his start with a time of 46.87.

The three fastest reelers from both heats made it to the next round. Two athletes made it to the finals through the time comparison, but Tähti was third in the time comparison. The Finnish bowler missed the final place by only 11 hundredths.

The fastest time in the preliminaries went to China Yang Hu in time 44.45.
