World champion trusts DFB women to win the title

Former national player Ariane Hingst believes that the German soccer players are capable of the big hit at the upcoming World Cup (July 20th to August 20th).

“You always have to reckon with Germany. We were, are and will remain a tournament team that has exceptionally good kickers,” said the 2003 world champion of the FAZ: “Of course, a bit of luck is also part of it, but I’m committed: We’ll play for the title.”

The team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg starts next Monday (10.30 a.m. CEST/ZDF) in Melbourne against the World Cup debutants Morocco in the finals in Australia and New Zealand.
