Haak unleashed against the Piedmontese, Pinerolo easily passes to Macerata, Novara beats Busto Arsizio
Conegliano-Cuneo 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 26-24)
After Monday’s tie-break victory against Busto Arsizio, Prosecco Doc makes no concessions to Cuneo Granda, returning to the three-point victory with a clear 3-0. Haak lashes out like a hurricane against the Cats’ defense, scoring 26 points (3 aces) with 68% in attack (MVP of the match), well served by Wolosz. For the Piedmontese team, Pucelj, the reference offensive terminal, scored 14 points (in addition to a good 41% in receptions on 41 balls). Conegliano: Haak 26 points, team blocks 8, team aces 8 (3 Haak)
Wedge: Pucelj 14 points, team blocks 1, team aces 10 (3 Atamah and Pritchard).
Macerata – Pinerolo 0-3 (18-25, 16-25, 17-25)
It took Pinerolo just under an hour and a half to close the match in Macerata. The supremacy of the Piedmontese is never in question, as with Malual (18 points and 58% in attack), Davyskiba (14 points and 45% in attack) and Dodson (12 points and 75% in attack), they crush the Marches. For Malual it was a growing match that earned her the title of MVP. For the home sextet, Decortes and Kokkonen did well, scoring 22 out of the 33 total points. Both the offensive phase (51%) and the defensive phase (65%) did well for Wash4green. Macerata’s attack needs to be reviewed (32%).
Macerata: Decortes 12 points, team blocks 2, team aces 1
Pinerolo: Malual 18 points, team blocks 9 (4 Sylves), team aces 6.
Novara – Busto Arsizio 3-1 (25-19, 25-21, 21-25, 25-20)
Three-point victory for Novara within the friendly walls of Pala Igor. In four sets she defeated Busto in a hard-fought match, where the Lombard team wasted too much (23 errors). For Agil, Igiede’s offensive phase was fundamental (19 points, including 4 blocks, with 71% in attack), eventually awarded MVP of the match. Obossa scored 24 for the visiting sextet (50% in attack). Ishikawa (17 points) and captain Bonifacio (12) also did well for the mosquitoes, in addition to the very high reception percentage (75%).
Novara: Hygiede 19 points, team blocks 11 (4 substitutions and hygiene), team ace 3
Bust Arsizio: Obossa 24 points, team blocks 10 (4 Torcolacci), team aces 0.
Vallefoglia-Firenze 2-3 (11-25, 25-20, 20-25, 26-24, 11-15)
Florence won the match against the hosts from Vallefoglia at the end of the tie-break. Two precious points for the Tuscans, after last Monday’s defeat. Very good in the fifth set Knollema and the entire offensive phase of the gigliate (52%), much more cynical than the Megabox in exploiting attacking opportunities (29%). Throughout the match Bukilic did well (30 points) and Knollema herself was named MVP. For the Marches 22 points for Omoruyi (40% attack) and Ungureanu, who came into the game on the run. Too many Megabox errors (31) which certainly affected the final result.
Vallefoglia: Omoruyi 22 points, team blocks 7, team aces 4
Florence: Bukilic 30 points, team blocks 8, team aces 5.
