Women’s European Championship set a record for the number of spectators

Sold -out stadiums are standard at the European Championships in Switzerland. A record brand was now outbid before the final.

A spectator record has been set up in the football European Championships of women in Switzerland. The 623,088 visitors counted so far present a record for women’s tournaments for women before the final between England and Spain.

The tournament also exceeds the European Championship 2022 in England, where, among other things, in the Old Trafford of Manchester at the opening game and in the Wembley Stadium of London in the final. The final in Switzerland is increasing in Basel.

The organizers had already reported the best value in the group phase of the current tournament. According to UEFA, 461,582 people had visited 24 games. 22 games were sold out. The average number of visitors to the preliminary round areas was 19,233.

For the tournament in Switzerland, more tickets were sold before the start of an EM. As the UEFA announced, more than 600,000 tickets were discontinued before the start.
