In the European Championship quarter-finals, Germany will meet France on Saturday (9 p.m.) in Basel. Due to the lock of Carlotta Wamser, women’s national coach Christian Wück has to convert his starting eleven anyway, but further changes could occur.
Christian Wück presented himself in front of his team right after the game against Sweden (1: 4). In the event of critical inquiries about his left defense with Rebecca Knaak (inside) and Sarai Linder (outside), the national coach said that it was about defending together – and that would not have worked out well. The 52-year-old did not want to know a single team part.
It is important that we continue to have this belief from the inside. That we know our qualities. I am absolutely convinced of this team and would like to pass it on to everyone.

Conclusion: Forming the defensive series is like a Vabanques game. Wück should stay with the chain of four, but by taking Hendrich and Kleinhernen in the faster French women, bringing more speed into the defense series.
midfield
Against the defensive chain of three speaks that the squad is actually not aligned with it. Due to the system change, there would only be one player on the outer lane, which would rob the team a great strength on the offensive.
We generally have to be more compact – also between the chain of four, midfield and storm. We are not allowed to allow any rooms. We have to push through better so that we can better protect each other. We are not allowed to leave a player alone.
So far, two sixes have formed, one of whom acted a little more offensive, and a ten the central midfield in Wück’schen 4-2-3-1. In order to produce more compactness here, the typical playmaker could be sacrificed. In addition to co-captain Sjoeke Nüsken, Sara Däbritz or Sydney Lohmann could try to keep the distances between the team parts as small as possible in addition to co-captain Sjoeke Nüsken.

Conclusion: Both Linda Dallmann (against Poland and Denmark) as well as Laura Freiang (against Sweden) could not influence the game from the ten. In order to ensure more compactness, it would therefore be obvious to send a more defensive midfielder to the field. Lohmann would be for quick switching. Däbritz is the orderly game structure more.
Storm
The yield of the storm series is very good on paper. Lea Schüller and Jule Brand have both met twice. Brand also gave two direct gate templates – and Klara Bühl is involved in many dangerous attacks.
However, the truth also includes that the effective Schüller is not integrated too little by their teammates – and fire also benefited from the strong urge to offensive of the now blocked Wamser behind her. Wamser prepared her two goals. Bühl is still missing the last train to the goal and her flanks have not yet led to success.
Conclusion: The flank quality and also the accuracy of fit in the third of the attack leave something to be desired. Both run through the tournament like a thread. Schüller’s risk of scoring, which has scored the outstanding 54 hits in 78-international operations (just under 0.7 goals per game), has to be brought up even more. The trio remains set, but has to work even better.
