Women’s biathlon sprint postponed to Friday – Hinz tested positive for Corona – biathlon – winter sports

The women’s biathlon sprint at the start of the World Cup finals in Oslo has been postponed from Thursday to Friday due to bad weather forecasts. This was announced by the world association IBU on Wednesday. Heavy rain is currently forecast for Thursday afternoon in Oslo.

The women around Olympic champion Denise Herrmann run the race over 7.5 km on Friday (from 1.15 p.m. in the sports show live ticker with videos) directly ahead of the men, who now start at 3.50 p.m. (sports show live ticker with videos) at the legendary Holmenkollen getting started. On Saturday the pursuers are on the program, before the long Olympic winter of the ski hunters comes to an end on Sunday with the concluding mass starts.

Corona: Hinz misses the World Cup final

Vanessa Hinz will miss all of these competitions. The 29-year-old athlete from SC Schliersee has tested positive for the corona virus and will therefore miss the season finale in Oslo. Hinz shared a picture of a positive rapid test in an Instagram story on Wednesday and wrote: “It’s, it’s, it’s good.”

Due to the short time, their starting place will not be reassigned, so that on Friday, individual Olympic champions Denise Herrmann, Janina Hettich, Vanessa Voigt and Franziska Hildebrand will be at the start for the DSV team at Holmenkollen. The two sprint races are scheduled for Friday, followed by the pursuers and finally the mass starts at the weekend.
