An older man was robbed of his deceased wife’s necklace in Spoorlaan in Oisterwijk on Friday morning. This was done by two women.
The women walked up to the walking man and one of them tried to give him a kiss. The man immediately felt his wife’s chain being removed from his neck. The women then walked away and got into a car. The driver quickly drove away.
Several people saw it happen. One of them stepped in front of the car to try to stop it. He was almost hit by a car. There were four people in the car. The witnesses remembered the license plate number and called the police.
A short time later the car was spotted on the A2 heading south. Officers were able to arrest the suspects at a gas station in Asten. The four suspects – a 23 and a 24-year-old man and a 24 and 26-year-old woman from Romania – without a place of residence in the Netherlands – were detained in the police station in Tilburg. The stolen chain had not yet been found on Saturday morning.
