The driver of a car escaped a sea of flames near Eexterveenschekanaal this evening.
The woman was driving along the Polderweg when smoke came from under the dashboard. She parked the car on the side of the road, after which flames quickly erupted from the vehicle. When the fire brigade arrived at the car, it was already ablaze.
It is not yet known how the fire started. The woman was unharmed.
