On March 7, 1995, the body of a 57-year-old man was found in a house on Kijkduinstraat in the Amsterdam district of Bos en Lommer. The investigation that was done thirty years ago did not lead to arrests at the time. But the coldcase team of the police recently opened the investigation again.
Previously arrested by other murder
In the investigation, DNA material was compared to a 1995 case, in which a connection was already seen with a different murder from that same year. In that case on 26 February 1995 the body of a 66-year-old man was found in a hotel on Haarlemmerstraat. The now arrested woman of 68 years was already arrested, but in the end only convicted of theft.
Of the investigation in that case, blood traces of the shoes of the now 68-year-old suspect seized in 1995 were kept. That was compared with material from the victim found in the house on Kijkduinstraat. That recently led to a DNA match with the woman. This match, together with witness statements and other DNA traces of the same suspect, ultimately led to the arrest.
