Eindhoven Airport was closed for an hour on Friday morning after a bomb alert. A 51-year-old woman was on board an airplane when she said there was a bomb in her hold luggage. She was then removed from the plane and arrested.
The plane in which the woman was would fly to the Turkish resort of Antalya. A spokesperson for the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee says that the woman’s suitcase was checked by an explosive scout. “We take every report seriously. In this case it turned out not to be a bomb.”
Due to the report, a plane has been diverted to Weeze airport in Germany. Some other flights were delayed. “In the meantime, the airport is open again and all flights are going again according to schedule,” says the spokesperson.
