The facts occurred around 9 o’clock this morning in Sint-Alfonsusstraat, near the Paterskerk. Police and emergency services arrived on the scene, but the woman could no longer be helped.
“We have established that a 45-year-old woman has died. The perpetrator appears to be her husband, a 51-year-old man, who stabbed her to death,” says Tom Janssens of the West Flanders public prosecutor’s office. “There are also children in the family. They were home at the time of the incident.”
