Nick Woltemade celebrated a brilliant debut in the Premier League at Newcastle United. The German international scored his first goal in the English championship in the 29th minute and at the same time the goal to 1-0 (1-0) for the Magpies against the Wolverhampton Wanderers. For Newcastle it was the first win in the fourth season game and a perfect dress rehearsal for the Champions League start on Thursday against FC Barcelona.

After his header, the 23-year-old ran towards the home fans and slipped on his knees to the corner flag. In the 65th minute it was over: William Osula came to the field for Woltemade. “He trained well and we are very satisfied with his appearance in the first few days,” explained coach Eddie Howe before the game.

Woltemade has a great being and a great character. “He is very quiet and immediately worked into our training without being out of place. He showed his qualities. We are very satisfied with how he settled in,” said Howe about how the striker recommended for the starting eleven debut.

At the end of August, Woltemade changed from VfB Stuttgart to Newcastle for a transfer fee of initially 75 million euros. There he signed a contract until 2031.
