Wolfsburg women pull past Bayern again

Wolfsburg (dpa) – VfL Wolfsburg has won the top game of the women’s soccer Bundesliga and thus pushed the German champions FC Bayern Munich back from first place in the table.

VfL defeated fifth-placed TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 3-0 (3-0) on Saturday. The goals were scored by Felicitas Rauch (9th minute) and Lena Lattwein (18th/32nd) in the first half. FC Bayern beat Eintracht Frankfurt 4-2 in the exciting title race on Friday evening.

The Hoffenheim women had taught the Wolfsburg women the only defeat of the Bundesliga season so far in the first leg. On Wednesday evening, VfL takes on Arsenal in London in the first leg of the quarter-finals in the Champions League.
