VfL Wolfsburg continues its series in the Bundesliga. With the 4: 2 (1-0) against Werder Bremen, the team of coach Tommy Stroot won the third win of the season on matchday four.

The early tour of Ella Pedemors (30th) brought the runner -up to a comfortable starting point. Shortly after the change of sides, Janou Levels (52nd) increased to 2: 0. In front of 2715 spectators in their own stadium, Bremen’s Larissa Mühlhaus then hit the late goal (82nd). Levels Maja Sternad had previously fouled in the penalty area. Two minutes later, Svenja Huth restored the old distance (84th) before Alexandra Popp hit 4: 1 shortly before the end (89.). In added time, Emöke Papai scored a goal for the guests.

Popp was in the starting eleven despite a bruise that she had contracted in Cologne. Lineth Beerensteyn was missing with a tendon injury.

Through the home win, the Wolfsburgers climbed second behind FC Bayern, who had previously won 4-0 against SC Freiburg. It was the first defeat for Werder Bremen this season.
